It was the largest moth I have ever seen the size of a medium sized bird in wingspan, it was incredible to see it fly. It is obviously well worn but it was a marvellous sighting - Tony Clancy

Attached are some photos I took Aug/Sept whilst visiting family in Kuala Lumpur. Most I have managed to ID (I think) but can anyone ID the moth/butterfly (I think a moth) ?? It was a day flying insect. The common names differ in different parts of Asia - Richard Bigg

7th October 2007 - The moth from Malaysia Richard Bigg has requested an id. on seems to be Asota caricae, a species that feeds on Ficus and Papaya/Paw paw trees where it can be a pest. I have come across this moth in India as well. The moth in the photo looks a bit tattered making it difficult to see any white spot present on either forewing - Bob Hazra (Thanks to Bob!)
