Riodinidae - Herts & Middx Butterfly Conservation

The Riodinidae family (Metalmarks)

The Duke of Burgundy is the only European member of the Riodinidae family but is often referred to as a fritillary due in part to its coloration. The species was seen at Aldbury Nowers in 2021 since last being reported there in 1998 but none were seen in 2023.
